All concerned has been urged by the Assam chief election officer (CEO) Nitin Khade to abide by the ECI guidelines on the Exit Poll ban and to act in accordance with it.

The ECI under the provision of Sub-Section (1) of Section 126A of the Representation of People Act, 1951 having regard to the provisions of Sub-Section-(2) of the said Section, had notified the period between 7:00 am on March 27, 2021 (Saturday) to 7:30 pm on April 29, 2021 (Thursday) as the period.

According to a statement, any Exit poll publishing or publicizing via print or electronic media or wide spread in any other manner, the result of any exit poll in connection with the General Election to the Assam Legislative Assembly-2021, has been prohibited during this period.

For smooth completion of the election process in the state, the CEO Assam has urged to comply the guidelines of ECI in this period.
