Assam : Ban on inter-district movement from May 21

A temporary ban has been decided to be imposed on inter-district movement of people from May 21 by the Assam Government.

The Chief Minister’s video conference with DCs and SPs released on Monday stated, “Considering the spread of COVID cases from one district to another, inter-district movement of people shall be temporarily suspended from May 21, 2021. This shall help in reducing the positive cases coming from outside a district”.

The temporary ban on inter-district movement was confirmed by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, to be effective from Friday (May 21).

“The state government has already issued a notification in this regard,” he said.
