Assamese singer Parvin Pori passed away due to COVID-19 at GNRC Hospital in Guwahati on Saturday.

The 32 year old singer performed at a Bihu program in Guwahati a few days back. She recently tested positive for the coronavirus and was undergoing treatment at GNRC. According to reports, her father also tested positive for COVID-19, and is currently undergoing treatment.

Assam recorded 26 COVID-19 deaths on Friday, the highest in a single day so far taking the toll to 1,281, while 3,197 new cases pushed the tally to 2,53,123, a bulletin issued by the state National Health Mission (NHM) here said.
