Manab Jyoti Dowerah, the Chief Manager of Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) succumbed to Covid-19 at AMC Hospital, Dibrugarh on Wednesday.

Since past few days, Dowerah was reported to be under treatment at AMCH.

A BCPL official said, “We condole the sudden demise of Manab Jyoti Dowerah. He was undergoing treatment at AMCH after being tested Covid positive. Today, we heard he left us for heavily abode”.

Dowerah belonged from Jorhat district of upper Assam who left his wife and two children behind.

“He was the first BCPL employee who died of Covid. We have lost one of our dedicated and sincere employees,” another BPCL employee said.

Joint Director of Health Services, Nabojyoti Gogoi said, “Manab Jyoti Dowerah was diabetic and having many other completions. We are taking all necessary precautions in our district.”

The entire family of Dowerah tested positive for COVID after they traveled to Guwahati.
