Assam Chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Union Sports & Youth Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju addressed a press conference on Empowerment of Farmers in Guwahati on Thursday.

The event was aslo attended by Food processing minister Rameshwar Teli and Assam Agricultural minister Atul Bora.

Talking on the subject of the Farmers bill, the Union sports minister said that the farmers in the North East (NE) will benefit greatly from this new Agrarian reform. It will turn Assam and the whole of NE to be an agricultural hub in the coming days and will be known for its specialities.

Sonowal agreed with sports minister and said that Assam has wholeheartedly welcomed the Agricultural Reform law and thanked PM Modi for taking the historic steps towards the welfare of the farmers.
