To take stock of the grenade blast site at Tingrai market at Digboi, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reached Tinsukia district on Saturday. CM Sarma announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to each families and extended treatment to the two other injured person admitted at the Assam Medical College in Dibrugarh.
On Friday, two people died on a grenade explosion and two others were seriously injured.
The CM said, “It was a very unfortunate incident and we lost two lives i.e. Sanjiv Singh and Surojit Talukdar. We will not allow peace in the state to be disturbed at any cost. I have already directed Assam Police to investigate the matter and bring the culprits to justice”.
The Assam CM also took stock of the security facilities at the Tingrai market. Lok Sabha member Rameswar Teli and Digboi MLA Suren Phukan acconpanied CM Sarma.
