Assam : Curfew relaxation in Kamrup(M); complete lockdown in 4 districts

SOP Assam Covid guidelines

A revised Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) was issued by the Assam Government on June 25(Friday), where the curfew timings in Kamrup Metropolitan district were relaxed, which includes Guwahati, until 4 pm. It also mentioned of a complete lockdown in Goalpara, Biswanath, Morigaon and Bokakhat sub-division in Golaghat districts from June 28(Monday) till Sunday (July 4).

Addressing media, Health Minister Keshab Mahanta issued the new SOP,

According to the new SOP issued by Health Minister Keshab Mahanta, shops will remain open till 3 pm, earlier which was till 1 pm.

Around 247 COVID-19 hotspots identified across Assam will be marked as containment zones. Only essential services will be allowed in these zones.

Important Notification :

  • Curfew in Guwahati to be from 4pm. Shops to be closed down by 3pm.
  • Total lockdown announced for four districts: Biswanath, Goalpara, Morigaon and Bokakhat town of Golaghat district.
  • Only essential services will be allowed to operate in these districts.
  • Inter-district travel remains prohibited.
  • Those who are fully vaccinated need not be tested at airport and railway stations, provided they can produce their final vaccination certificate
