Assam: Gang of Dacoits arrested; 4 held in Sarupathar

Subdivisional Police Officer (SDPO) Trinayan Bhuyan and his team began an operation on Saturday against a group of armed dacoits who allegedly robbed Rs 2 lakh from a gas outlet named Shyam Services in Sarupathar on August 13.

The cops apprehend four people from the Naoghat region near the Golaghat-Karbi Anglong border in connection with case no. 91/21 under section 392/427 Indian Panel Code related to a robbery at Shyam Services petrol station in Sarupathar on August 13 night. The accused were identified as Rupam Khaklary, son of Sonamol Khaklary from Majgaon sector C under Uriamghat PS, Naba Kanta Bodo, son of Nila Kanta Boro from Jayapathar sector C under Uriamghat PS, Rakesh Ingti, son of Hemmari Ingti from Gandhipur under Bokajan PS, and Ken Terang, son of Borasu Terang from Bokajan PS.

SDPO Trinayan Bhuyan later stated, “The gang was involved in a theft in Sarupathar, stealing money from a gas station. All four criminals were caught.” “Securing public life and property is our greatest concern,” the SDPO stated.
