Assam: Govt cancels APDCL’s recruitment test on charge of irregularities

On charges of irregularities, the Assam government has cancelled the recruitment of the Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL). On Saturday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that a new recruitment test will be held soon.

The news comes after ten people were arrested on Friday in connection with a cash-for-work scheme. Earlier on Friday, the CM’s Special Vigilance Cell arrested ten people on suspicion of being involved in the APDCL recruitment scam.

Three people were arrested in the Jalukbari area, four in the Basistha area, one in the Chandmari area, and two in the Dispur area of the city, according to officials. One of the ten people arrested was APDCL OSD Dipankar Dhingiya.
