Assam : ISRO centre in Amingaon near Guwahati

Assam Minister Keshav Mahanta informed that the requirement of land for building an Indian Space and Research Organization (ISRO) centre in the State has been allotted by the Assam Government at Amingaon near Guwahati.

Keshav Mahanta said, “Land for ISRO centre has been identified and allotted at Amingaon”.

In Assam the process of setting up an ISRO centre began in 2017.

The ISRO centre would research on the probability of using geospatial technology to chalk out accurate flood warning system, prevention of soil erosion and landslide, etc.

Young researchers in the State and the region will be highly benefited by the ISRO centre. 

Previously, the ISRO Chairman was requested to integrate space technology for the overall development of the state by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
