Few Mizo people attempted to build an “illegal concrete construction,” along the Assam-Mizoram border in Cachar district. The Forest Department have however managed to stop the construction work.
Leaded by Cachar DFO Sunnydeo Choudhary, a team of forest official headed to Lailapur on the Assam-Mizoram border on Thursday based on a tip-off to prevent the “illegal concrete construction,” by few Mizo people.
The construction work took place at approximately 600 meters from Lailapur beat office towards Mizoram, informed a forest official.
DFO Choudhary told reporters, “Such construction work cannot take place in the vicinity wherein neutral forces are deployed for vigil”.
Previously, personnel of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and Border Security Force (BSF) were placed along the Assam-Mizoram border due to heightened tension.
