Another individual has been detained in Assam for posting pro-Taliban messages on social media. The individual was apprehended for using Facebook to help the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan.

The detained individual is said to operate at a tyre business in the Jorabat district of Guwahati. This brings the total number of persons detained in Assam for allegedly aiding the Taliban to 16.

An Assam Police policeman, a prominent official of the state branch of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, a medical student, and a journalist have all been detained thus far.
