Assam: Police arrests Main Suspect in Case Involving Forged signature of CM Sarma

The police have arrested the main suspect in the case involving the forged signature of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. CM of Assam, Imran Sha Coudhury, the person who was arrested, has been identified. In New Delhi, he was apprehended by a team of Guwahati cops.

“The kingpin of the crime, Imran Sha Coudhury, claimed that it would be very easy for him to get them (four other persons) a contract in the PHE department directly through the CMO, but he would take a 3% commission,” the Assam Police said in a statement.

“Imran Sha Choudhury gave them the forged papers, which they eventually submitted to the chief engineer of the PHE department,” the Assam Police said.
