Biman Bora, a notorious criminal who has been charged in multiple incidents, including the spectacular 2013 Gunjan Sharma kidnapping case, was shot by police in retaliation.
The tragedy occurred in the early hours of Wednesday in Kanjikhowa, Assam’s Chabua district. Bora is accused of robbery, kidnapping, and car lifting in upper Assam, according to authorities.
Dibrugarh SP Shwetank Mishra said, “We received an information regarding the presence of Biman Bora. When our police team went to nab him, he fired at the policemen and in retaliation the police fired in his leg. He has been admitted at Assam Medical College and Hospital for treatment.”
