Due to COVID-19 pandemic, schools will continue to remain closed according to a decision taken by the Assam secondary education department in the wake of the conclusion of the month-long summer vacation on June 14(Monday).

The directors of secondary and elementary education, all inspectors of schools, other officials of the department and heads of government and private educational institutes were asked by Principal Secretary B Kalyan Chakravarthy to take necessary actions to restart online classes and support e-learning until the institutes are re-opened.

To make sure that the learning process of students continues, online classes were directed to resume.

On May 14, 2021, when COVID-19 cases were surging, the department declared summer vacation in Assam till June 14, 2021.

Summer vacation in the state is normally between July 1 to July 31.
