On Tuesday, 11 girls from the DCB Girls’ College in Jorhat, Assam tested positive for Covid-19.
According to Jorhat Deputy Commissioner Roshni A Korati, three girls out of the eleven are to appear their semester exams from hostel where they are held in isolation, whereas the other eight girls have been isolated at home.
The number of Covid-19 positive cases increased to 19 in the district.
RAT testing facilities have been setup in major colleges like JB College and CKB College in Jorhat and NN Saikia College in Titabar subdivision by the district administration.
Negative reports came out of all 148 tested in JB College and 40 tested in NN Saikia College.
Six tested positive out of the 87 RTPCR tests conducted mostly in the airport and Jorhat Medical College and Hospital.
In Jorhat district, there are 38 active cases and 71 deaths recorded so far.
The total number of positive cases till date is 12,426.
