Two earthquakes measuring 2.9 and 3.7 on the Richter Scale shook Assam on 9th and 10th May 2021, at 11:58pm and 12:11 am respectively.

The epicenters of both the earthquakes were at a depth of 18 & 23 km, at Sonitpur, Assam according to National Centre for Seismology.

Another mild earthquake of 3.0 on the Richter Scale was experienced at 7:05 am. The epicenter was said to be near Nagaon at a depth of 23km.
