Assamese film wins award at Port Blair International Film Festival

Several awards were won by the Assamese movie entitled “Life in a Puppet”, at the Port Blair International Film Festival.

Both in national and international categories, “Life in a Puppet” won the Best Film award. The movie also bagged the Best Director award and Best Producers award.

The movie is made on puppet theatre of Assam which is nearing extinction.

Along with American film “On the Day that I died”, the Assamese film was given the Best Film award in international section.

The movie won the Best Director, Best Producer and Best Film awards in the Indian film section.

The film festival saw participation from 50 countries.

A great deal of hard work and expenditure was put in by Rajen Das, Director and producer of the movie, to make the film on the puppet theatre in Assam.

Rajen Das said, “I am elated to hear the news of my film doing so well. I hope this film will bring more glory to the State in the future”.

The film features popular actor Asha Bordaloi, Dipandita Das, Narayan Deka and Prakash Thakuria.

The Music director of the movie was Singer Tarali Sarma.

Previously, the film received international praise at the 17th Thakur International Film Festival at Shanti Niketan in West Bengal.
