In an official release, Govt. of Assam has made wearing of a mask compulsory in all public places as a part of national directives for COVID-19 management.

Anybody violating the instructions will be liable to punishment under the section 188 of Indian Penal Code.

A fine of rupees 500 will be collected for the first, second and third offense and on payment of one thousand rupees for the subsequent offences.
