Following an increase in Covid positive cases in Dibrugarh, the Dibrugarh District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) issued new guidelines on Tuesday. In Dibrugarh on Monday, 501 Covid positive cases were discovered.
On all days, all shops and commercial establishments must close at 9 p.m. Shop owners must maintain a minimum of six feet of space between customers and allow more than five people inside the shop at any given time.
Furthermore, shop owners should keep sanitizers and hand soap on hand at all times. Customers and shopkeepers will be required to wear masks and maintain social distance.
The responsibility for maintaining social distance will fall on the shop owner, and failure to do so will be taken very seriously, potentially resulting in the closure of defaulting shops.
If COVID Appropriate Behaviour, such as wearing masks, maintaining social distance, regular hand washing and use of sanitizer, maintaining health hygiene, no spitting, and so on, is not maintained at any establishment/business premises/weekly market/schools, colleges, educational/coaching institutes, libraries, religious places, and so on, such premises/weekly market may be closed to contain the spread of COVID-19 virus.
Those who fail to comply will also face criminal charges under the applicable laws. Owners of eateries such as hotels, restaurants, and dhabas will be required to ensure that all persons/customers entering such establishments are fully vaccinated (having received both doses of vaccine) and will not allow any person/customer who is not fully vaccinated. The defaulters will face a hefty fine under the applicable laws.
All public transportation authorities, including auto rickshaws, cycle rickshaws, and taxis, must enforce COVID-19-compliant behaviour and seating inside vehicles, carriers, and so on.
Only fully vaccinated (having received both doses of vaccine) passengers will be allowed to board such transportation services, according to the owner. If the owner is found to be in violation of such an order, heavy fines will be imposed under the applicable laws.
