Guwahati City FC (GCFC) has become Assam’s first football club to be named to the Hero Indian Women’s League Qualifiers. The Guwahati City FC team will compete in the Hero Indian Women’s League Qualifiers in 2021-22.
While the Indian national senior women’s team prepares for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup, which will be held in Mumbai beginning January 20, this news has given Assam’s Women Football new hope.
Assam Football Association has nominated Guwahati City FC in accordance with the rules and regulations of the All India Football Federation.
Guwahati City FC established its Women’s Football Team on March 8, 2021, with the dual goals of developing women’s football and representing the state in the IWL.
The GCFC Football Academy is home to a number of promising female footballers. According to a club statement, the club is preparing to write history by competing in the top division of Indian women’s football and providing new opportunities for local female footballers.
