On Tuesday, a guy in Nalbari’s Mukalmua was allegedly attacked by a lending company’s recovery worker. Ahmed Hussain has accused a loan collection agent from a car loan firm of assaulting him after he stated that he would be late on payments.
Abdul Majid, a resident in the same region, has been recognised as the accused. Hussain claims that he bought a motorcycle on EMI two years ago and paid the EMIs on time, but that he was a little late this time.
Despite his promise to pay the EMI by the end of January, Majid allegedly harassed and beat him and demanded immediate payment.
Majid severely abused Hussain, forcing him to be hospitalised. Hussain filed a complaint against the recovery agency, and an investigation was launched.
It should be noted that some persons in the state have made claims about unauthorised recovery agents. Recovery agencies are sometimes accused of forcibly “seizing” vehicles with pending EMIs.
