LS Speaker Om Birla inaugurates State-of-the-Art Assam Legislative Assembly building

On Sunday, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla inaugurated the new building of the Assam Legislative Assembly in Guwahati, showcasing a remarkable blend of modern features and traditional architecture. The newly unveiled assembly hall boasts the latest e-Vidhan system, revolutionizing the functioning of the legislative body with electronic operations for the first time in the state’s history.

Originally initiated during the Congress regime, the construction of the edifice underwent an impressive overhaul under the current BJP government’s guidance, resulting in the creation of a cutting-edge structure.

Gracing the momentous occasion, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal witnessed the grand inauguration ceremony.
