Nandita Saikia Murder Case to be heard by Fast-Track Courts

The Assam government declared on Thursday that the sensational Nandita Saikia murder case will be heard by a Fast-Track Court. Assam’s education minister, Ranuj Pegu, made the statement during a cabinet meeting in Guwahati.

Furthermore, the Assam cabinet has instructed special DGP GP Singh to oversee the inquiry. Nandita Saikia, a college student from Assam’s Lakhimpur district, died on Wednesday as a result of her injuries received in a machete assault.

Nandita was being treated at the Brahmaputra Diagnostic and Hospital in Dibrugarh, Assam, after Rintu Sarma assaulted her with a machete in the Dhemaji region of Assam on Saturday.
