According to a CYMA leader, the central committee of the Young Mizo Association or Central YMA (CYMA), Mizoram’s largest and most powerful organisation, has demanded an investigation by a central agency into the alleged involvement of outside forces in the recent clash over the inter-state boundary between Mizoram and Assam.

According to CYMA President Vanlalruata, the organization’s gathering on Tuesday endorsed a resolution seeking an investigation under the supervision of the central government.

The demand came a day after BJP MPs from the Northeast met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and presented a statement alleging that forces from outside were fueling border tensions between Assam and Mizoram.
