A bomb blasted at around 1 am at Moreh Ward No 2 Sunrise ground on April 2. It blasted near a temporary bunker of the Assam Rifles and a fence restricting movement of people across the Indo-Myanmar border.
Moreh police and Assam Rifles rushed to the spot and started investigating the scene. They also collected fragments of the bomb.
Sources said that no people were hurt in the explosion.
In the meantime, sounds of heavy firing and explosions near Namphalong Fire Sub-station on Myanmar side could be heard at Moreh during the night.
According to reports, casualties have been there in the incident in Myanmar.
It may be mentioned that the Moreh town which falls on the Indo-Myanmar border is on high alert due to the army crackdown on pro-democracy protesters resisting the military power in Myanmar.
