In a resolute address during the Kargil Vijay observation at the Manipur Secretariat (South Block) Conference Hall, Chief Minister N Biren Singh reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to identify and expel illegal migrants from the region. He also firmly stood against the call for Separate Administration, emphasizing the government’s dedication to maintaining unity and peaceful co-existence in the State.
The Chief Minister acknowledged that the ongoing tension within the State stems from the Government’s strong actions against drug cartels. He clarified that the State Government’s measures were not targeted at the Kuki community, with whom the State has shared a long history of harmonious cohabitation.
Recently, miscreants caused unrest by burning down buses used by security forces in the Kangpokpi district. However, the Chief Minister remained undeterred, vowing to tackle the elements seeking to disrupt the State’s tranquility.
Moreover, CM Biren Singh expressed his strong condemnation regarding the use of derogatory language against him during a solidarity rally in Mizoram. The rally, attended by Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga, saw the Manipur Chief Minister’s character attacked unjustly.
The State Government’s relentless efforts to combat illegal immigration and drug-related activities underscore its commitment to safeguarding the welfare of Manipur’s citizens and preserving the State’s social fabric.
