Miscreants throw bomb, open fire at Premjit, a senior police officer’s home in Moreh on Saturday evening at around 9 pm.

The officer’s wife and his eight-year-old son sustained injuries in the attack and were admitted to the Moreh Public Health Centre (PHC). 

Later, the mother-son duo was shifted to an Imphal hospital for further treatment. 

In the meantime, no insurgent outfit has so far claimed responsibility for the attack. 

Attack at the residence of a senior police official in Manipur has sent shockwaves across the state.  

Drugs mafia is suspected to be behind the attack as the Manipur police has been acting tough against drug cartels in the state.
