Manipur on Wednesday recorded the highest single day fatality related to COVID-19, with 10 persons succumbing to the virus. The total number of deaths due to Coronavirus reached 434.
The victims were from Imphal West (4), Imphal East (3), Kangpokpi (2) and Churachandpur (1). They were aged 42, 48, 56, 60, 67, 72, 75 and 78 respectively, according to additional health director Dr K Sasheekumar Mangang.
In the last 24 hours, another 397 new cases were registered in the state. This includes 20 personnel from the Central Armed Police Force. The rest are from the general population, including one air passenger.
The new cases include 187 from Imphal West, 76 from Imphal East, 28 from Kakching, 22 from Ukhrul, 19 from Kangpokpi, 15 from Senapati, 13 from Churachandpur, 12 from Bishnupur, 11 from Tamenglong, 10 from Thoubal, two each from Chandel and Jiribam districts.
