Female Autorickshaw Driver from Manipur emerges as Hero

To support a Covid warrior, 52-year-old auto rickshaw driver Laibi Oinam of East Imphal made an eight-hour, 140-kilometre road journey along the Myanmar border.

She was rewarded with Manipur Chief Minster’s Health Card which helped her during the two months of her husband Rajendro Oinam’s hospitalization, followed by a severe foot injury that almost led to amputation.

Chief Minister of Manipur N. Biren Singh rewarded her with an amount of Rs. 1.1 lakh and made sure that her family got its own ration card.
