Assam Rifles troops busted a militant hideout inside a thick jungle near Leibi village in Manipur’s Tengnoupal district on Sunday,

The office of the Inspector General of Assam Rifles (South) informed in a press release that a militant hideout was busted by the Assam Rifles troops inside a thick jungle near Leibi village in Tengnoupal district of Manipur, on Sunday.

During the operation, the troops busted a militant hideout and took ‘warlike stores’ that involved an M-16 assault rifle, rocket launcher with ammunition and Myanmar currency under possession. However, no militants were present at the hideout located 10 km away from Myanmar border.

The weapons and other stocks were handed over to the Tengnoupal police station for further action.
