Taking note of the rising Covid cases in the last couple of days and the second wave surging across different States in the country, the State Government has mandated the closure of the three Ima Keithels and the adjoining Temporary market for ten days and directed that shops be opened on rotational basis.

Only one in each three shops located in the gallis of Thangal Keithel and Paona Keithel should be opened on rotational basis, said the order.

The order further said that one in each three shops of whole sale and grocery item shops at Masjid Road can open on rotational basis. All transport vehicles including buses, Winger vans, Magic vans, auto-rickshaws, E-rickshaws etc have also been asked to carry only half the capacity and ensure all passengers wear face masks.

The respective DCs and SPs of other districts have been asked to  evaluate the local conditions and issue suitable restriction orders. For Imphal, the DC will take the necessary action to implement the order, added the notification.
