A scheme has been started by the Manipur state government to take care of children whose lost their parents to COVID-19; informed Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh.
CM Biren Singh informed the government will provide education, food and accommodation and other basic necessities till they reach 18 years.
A Childline toll-free number 1098 has been made available for anyone who wants to inform about any such child in the state.
The CM’s COVID-19 Grievance Cell was opened to address the grievance faced by the COVID-19 patients, especially undergoing home isolation.
The contact numbers for the Grievance Cell, set up at CM’s Secretariat are 1800-3453-848 (toll-free) and 0385-2440079.
The patients can bring in their grievances to the cell after the concerned authority fail to take required steps after speaking with the State COVID-19 Control Room. This COVID-19 Grievance Cell would be handled by Doctors.
Previously, the Manipur government had set up the State COVID-19 Control Room to take in COVID-19 issues and challenges faced by the public, including doctor consultation, medicines among others.
