A Large convoy of around 15 vehicles was intercepted in a combined operation by Assam Rifles on November 11. Foreign origin textiles and consumer goods worth ₹ 75 lakhs were smuggled in the vehicles without legal documents near Moreh in Indo-Myanmar border.

For further legal actions all twenty six present in the vehicles were handed over to Moreh Police.

The government treasury was affected because goods were smuggled without any payment of custom duty through the Indo-Myanmar border, stated by Assam Rifles in a press release.
