On the occasion of Mera Chaoren Houba which is also known as Mera Hou Chongba, the Governor of Manipur,Najma Heptulla sent her best wishes to the people.
On her tweet she said that the festival is a traditional festival of Manipur which is celebrated on the advent of Mera-tha (September-October).
The Governor tweeted that the festival promotes unity and integrity amongst all communities in the state and the people of Manipur celebrates the festival with religious fervour and gaiety.
On the auspicious occasion of Mera Hou Chongba, Manipur Chief Minister, N. Biren Singh, also greeted the people of Manipur.
In Singh stated that, Mera Hou Chongba tries hard to promote brotherhood, peace and unity among the indigenous communities living in Manipur.
The festival symbolizes the belief in the pluralism and co-existence and also marks the soliditary among different ethnic groups of Manipur.
