Manipur : Review meeting with district officials by ATSUM

For a meeting with the district officials, the All Tribal Students’ Union Manipur (ATSUM ) visited Tamenglong district on December 1, for carrying out ‘ATSUM Charter of Demand’ on multiple matters confronting the people of Manipur.
Including the Medical Superintendent and Chief Medical Officer of the district, the district administration was led by Deputy Commissioner Armstrong Pame, IAS which was attended by District Level Officers (DLOs) of various departments.
In concern of the tribal inhabitants of the district, ATSUM pressurized on the various issues such as education system, health facilities, functioning of ADC and other major aspects.
Citizen-centric initiative was appealed by ATSUM to be taken by the state government that related to health care system and provide adequate medical facilities.
A brief interaction was done with the administrative staff of the Tamenglong College by ATSUM representatives.
“The state government needs to redress the various grievances faced by the college in relation to infrastructure and inadequate teaching and non-teaching staff. The college is functioning without a clerk, and the present teaching staff strength does not even reach the sanctioned number of posts”, said President of ATSUM, Seiboi Haokip.
