Manipur : Wungngayam Muirang plays for Bengaluru FC against Kerala Blasters

Wungngayam Muirang from Manipur becomes the first Tangkhul Naga footballer to play in the Indian Super League (ISL) on Sunday.

Playing for Bengaluru FC, Muirang from Ukhrul district in Manipur made his first appearance in the ISL 2020-21 against Kerala Blasters at the Fatorda Stadium in Goa, on Sunday.

Bengaluru FC won the match by 4-2 goals against Kerala Blasters.

According to a match report, Muirang has played for top Indian clubs which includes Shillong Lajong, Pune FC and Gokulam Kerala.

Muirang was happy to make his first appearance in the Indian Super League (ISL), said media reports.

He said he felt an “amazing feeling” and termed it a “proud moment”.

Muirang said, “It is not the end. This is just the beginning and I truly believe that there is much more to come. The hard work is on.”
