Meeting to achieve Meghalaya State Vision targets

A meeting was held by the Commissioner of Division, Garo Hills Region and Commissioner and Secretary Dr. D Vijay Kumar to achieve the goals of the Meghalaya State Vision with all the Deputy Commissioners and Officers of line departments of Garo Hills Region at Circuit House, West Garo Hills, Tura on December 11.

Meghalaya State Vision was focused by Dr Vijay Kumar during his summary. By accomplishing Maximum Per Capita GDP and Maximum Sustainable Development Goals, the state projects to come in the Top Ten States in the Country in the next ten years.

Dr Vijay Kumar said, “He informed that the demographic structure reflects that the population of the State of Meghalaya comprises of 65 per cent of people under the age group of 35 years who belong to the youth group and therefore, the youth of the State are the key stakeholders in supporting the State Government to achieve the State’s Vision”.

Further he stated that the Meghalaya State Youth Policy needs to be implemented by several

The Government departments that have cross cutting plans for Youth Development must implement the Meghalaya State Youth Policy to involve the youth in achieving their capacity to serving the state and the nation in a better way.

Dr Vijay Kumar informed that the Meghalaya Youth Policy is including children from five to twenty nine years of age in the youth policy.
