Over corruption in the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) and the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC), an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is still under demand by the Meghalaya BJP.
The demands for a CBI probe were not met against corruption in GHADC and JHADC by the state unit of BJP said Meghalaya BJP President Ernest Mawrie.
Ernest Mawrie said, “We have not forgot demand. We still demand a CBI probe into alleged corruption in the two District Councils of Meghalaya – GHADC and JHADC”.
Mawrie indicating the example of Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) said that the saffron party did not hesitate from going against BPF despite being an alliance partner of the BJP, in the recently held Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections in Assam over allegations of corruption.
“We are in the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA), but that doesn’t mean we will remain silent on corruption charges,” Mawrie added.
The National People’s Party (NPP) which leads the MDA Government was slammed by the BJP in Meghalaya in recent months against corruption in GHADC and JHADC and over illegal coal trade in the State.
