Meghalaya Boy Everbloom Nongrum receives Bravery Award

Everbloom K Nongrum, a 12-year-old boy from Mawryngkneng in East Khasi Hills (EKH) district of Meghalaya was awarded the ‘the Jeevan Raksha Padak Award 2019.

The Jeevan Raksha Award is given by the President of India through the Ministry of Home Affairs for displaying act of courage in saving the lives.

The Deputy Commissioner of EKH awarded Everbloom K Nongrum with ‘the Jeevan Raksha Padak Award 2019 on November 04.

As an award he received a medallion, a small-size replica of the main medal, a certificate signed by the Union Home Minister and a cheque of Rs.1,00,000.

Everbloom was awarded for saving the lives of two of his friends on July 17,2019 and July 23, 2020 who fell in a hole at a construction site in Mawryngkneng. Later the concerned authority covered up the hole to prevent any further incident.
