Meghalaya : Govt. denies salary increase of SSA teachers

The Government of Meghalaya denied salary increase of Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers in the State.

Meghalaya Education Minister Lakmen Rymbui stated that the Government is “not in a position” to raise the salaries of SSA teachers in the State.

The SSA teachers in Meghalaya demanded a raise in their salaries and have set February 18 as the final date before the State Government to fulfill their demand.

A memorandum was submitted to Meghalaya Education Minister Lakmen Rymbui demanding a hike in SSA teachers’ salaries on February 9th.
