Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma on Monday said, “The ball is lying in the Centre’s court and I would urge the various organizations to move forward by meeting officials and leaders in New Delhi and pursuing the issue along with the state government”.

After a demonstration was staged by the Confederation of Meghalaya Social Organizations before the Secretariat regarding the delay in implementing ILP, the statement was made after a week.

The CM rejected all claims regarding members of the pressure group storming the Secretariat, instead claimed that a peaceful demonstration was staged. He stated that it was not suitable as the organization did not had any prior permission for the event.

Sangma claimed that the government is still proceeding along with the matter with the Central government while mentioning that the state government clarified its stand by unanimously passing a resolution in the Assembly endorsing ILP.
