To discuss over the status of the Umiam bypass bridge, a meeting was held with the senior officials by Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad Sangma.

Proper traffic management was ensured without further damaging the bridge. Taking into account regarding sustainability and safety aspects; logistical and alternative arrangements were discussed by the Chief Minister.
