After a discussion with Chief Minister Conrad Sangma is done, the final call on the Meghalaya Residents’ Safety and Security (Amendment) Act (MRSSA), 2019 will be taken by the Centre.
Union Home Minister, Amit Shah was met by Governor Satya Pal Malik to discuss about relevant issues of the state which includes the MRSSA, said a statement issued from Raj Bhavan.
After the Chief Minister holds a discussion with the Union Home Minister a final decision will be made, as conveyed to the Governor.
The state government is forcing to implement the MRSSA while pressure groups want both ILP and MRSSA to be implemented in Meghalaya. The demand for ILP in the state was also supported by Political parties.
