In the North Garo Hills of Meghalaya, around Rs 5 lakhs worth of Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) has been seized.

The recovery was made from a truck in the Mendi pathar area of North Garo Hills district on Friday, said State Excise officials.

An official said that, 13 cartons of IMFL along with a few crates of beer was seized during a raid conducted by the excise detectives on receiving a tip-off.

A case Under appropriate sections of the Excise Act a case has been filed at the Mendipathar police station.
