3 oxygen generation plants will be set up, one each in East Khasi Hills district, West Garo Hills district and West Jaiñtia Hills district of Meghalaya.

Fund allocation approval was done by the PM CARES Funds for the installation of 551 dedicated Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Medical Oxygen Generation Plants inside public health facilities.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made an announcement that dedicated oxygen generation plants will be placed in identified government hospitals in district headquarters in various states/UTs.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare will handle the procurement.
