In a recent development, a youth hailing from Meghalaya has been arrested by the Goalpara police in Assam for the possession and attempted sale of a country-made pistol. The apprehended youth has been identified as Enamul Haque, residing in Phulbari, Meghalaya.
The incident took place in the Simolabari area of Goalpara district, Assam, where law enforcement authorities conducted a search at Simolabari Tiniali in Lakhipur. During the search operation, the police seized a country-made pistol from Enamul Haque’s possession.
According to reports, Enamul Haque had allegedly traveled to the Goalpara district with the intention of selling the illicit firearm. However, due to the prompt action of the Goalpara police, his attempts were thwarted, and he was taken into custody.
