Assam Rifles and Mizoram Excise and Narcotics department recovered 90 grams of heroin and apprehended two peddlers for possessing contraband at Tuirial airfield near Aizawl on Wednesday, according to Assam Rifles sources.

The contraband worth Rs 40.5 lakh are believed to be smuggled from Myanmar by the peddlers, sources said.

Excise department sources also informed that they have filed the two accused under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
