Mizoram will soon be getting its railway station. The Union government allocated Rs. 1000 crore in its Budget for the year 2021-22 for the Bairabi–Sairang project in the state.

It is reported that by March 2023 the Bairabi–Sairang railway line project would be completed.

A statement issued by NFR stated, “Better rail connectivity will lead to economic development not only for the people of the Mizoram but also for the entire North East region”.

The consumption and construction materials will be bought in a cheaper, cost-effective and eco-friendly way by the traders of the state.

The statement added, “Farmers of the state will send their produce to the wider market of the various states at a cheaper rate and time-bound manner”.
