In Mizoram, 62 more people in Mizoram have tested positive for Covid-19 which includes 21 policemen. In Northeastern state the total Covid cases have reached to 4,809, an official said.

He said, 26 cases were reported from Aizawl district, 23 from Lunglei district, 8 from Lawngtlai district, 3 from Serchhip district and one case each was reported from Champhai and Kolsib districts among the new cases. 30 patients, including 21 police personnel have travel history who have returned from Assam after election duty.

Among the newly infected people 17 patients which includes a 29-year-old woman along with her 7-month-old infant have symptoms, the official added.

At present, Mizoram has 315 active cases while 4,482 people have recovered. 12 people have succumbed to the infection. 2, 73,247 samples have been tested, including 2,069 on Friday.

1,14,673 people, which includes 27,545 senior citizens have received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine till Friday, according to state immunization officer Dr. Lalzawmi. 31,999 people have received the second dose of the vaccine.
